Inside the lighthouse,
The engine stutters
Coughing up a burning smoke
As it sputters.
Its lungs start to fail,
Its strength begins to die.
After 50 years of life,
It has decided that it's time.
As the foggy mist
Dissolves the morning frost,
No light illuminates the sky:
The ships will now get lost.
And on every ship
There are lives at stake-
With hopeful futures
That the fog has come to take.
Throught the families on the island
Spreads the news of the sailors' fate.
The only solution is to repai the engine,
But they know it's far too late.
With the jagged edge of the island,
The rocky shore so long...
It could only take a miracle
From God and God alone.
